  • Beethoven Piano Quartet in E flat Op 16
  • Maxwell Davies Sea Eagle
  • Howard Skempton The Rime of the Ancient Mariner

Ensemble 360 has been a regular contributor to the Festival Weekends, as well as the Music in the Round concerts in the winter season, since it was founded in 2006 by the late Peter Cropper to follow The Lindsays into residence in Sheffield. The Beethoven Quartet is an arrangement of his Quintet for Piano and Winds. Peter Maxwell Davies’ virtuoso horn solo dating from 1982 prepares us for Howard Skempton’s remarkable setting of Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s epic tale, which Roderick Williams premiered to great acclaim in December 2015. This performance coincides with the launch of its first recording.
