Founded at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, the Gildas Quartet are currently City Music Foundation Artists and Junior Fellows at Birmingham Conservatoire. They have played on several occasions with Jack McNeill, a winner of the Leamington Music Prize in 2010. Howard Skempton’s Clarinet Quintet was commissioned by Warwick Arts Society in 1997 and Howells’ joyous Quintet dates from 1917.
